After Steven Tyler sustained an injury that resulted in "bleeding vocal cords," Aerosmith decided to postpone its 2023 tour until the following year.

The band said Tyler's doctor "he fractured his larynx which requires ongoing care," in a statement posted on social media.

The best medical care is being given to him, he continued, "but given the nature of a fracture, he is being told patience is essential.

Six tour dates were postponed to 2024 when Tyler first suffered the vocal damage.

stops in Detroit, Chicago, Washington, D.C., Toronto, Raleigh, and Cleveland will be made along the way, which will begin in January and last until the end of February.

The band had planned to return by October 11 but that has since changed.

The band promised that additional concerts would be "announced as soon as we know more."
